Police recovered the body of a school boy from Muksudpur upazila of Gopalganj on Sunday morning, two days after he went missing.

Deceased Samuel Sarkar, 10, was the son of Daniel Sarkar, a resident of Kaligram in the upazila. He was a fourth grader at Talbari Missionary School.

Locals spotted the floating body in a pond and informed police.

Later, police recovered the body, said Sindhiaghat Police outpost inspector Md Abul Bashar.

The body was sent to Gopalganj General Hospital morgue, he added.

On Friday, Samuel went outside with his neighbour Rinku Mazumder for bird hunting. Since then, he went missing.

Later, Daniel filed a complaint at Sindhiaghat Police outpost.

Police, however, detained Rinku Mazumder for interrogation.
