Five Bangladeshis injured after being shot by BSF

Five Bangladeshi nationals received injuries after being shot allegedly by India's Border Security Force (BSF) along the Kaliani border in Sadar upazila of Satkhira district early Friday.

The injured are Mofizul Islam, Haidar Ali, Ajibur Rahman, Aminul Islam and his son-in-law.

Locals said some men entered Dubli area inside India to bring cattle through the Kaliani border.

BSF opened fired on them while returning with smuggled cattle, leaving them severly injured.

Locals also alleged that though the five wounded returned home but some other ones went missing.

Quoting a BSF's statement, BGB-33 commanding officer Lt Col Golam Mohiuddin Khandaker said the Indian border force did not shoot but chased the cattle smugglers and detained some of them.
