Madrasa student dies of dengue


A madrasa student died of mosquito-borne dengue in Kaliganj upazila of Satkhira district on Thursday afternoon.

Deceased Alamgir Gazi, 14, was the son of Sreekola village in the upazila. He is a student of a Qawmi madrasa in Jashore.

Deceased's elder brother Sujon Gazi said Alamgir was admitted to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex on August 19 where he was diagnosed with dengue.

Alamgir was taken to Satkhira Sadar Hospital this morning after his condition deteriorated where doctors referred him to Khulna Medical College Hospital, said Satkhira Civil Surgeon Dr Abu Shahin.

Later, he died on way to Khulna around 5:00 pm.
