20 hurt in fox attack

At least 20 people have received injuries after a fox bit them in several villages of Badalgachhi upazila of Naogaon.

The incident took place at Basantapur, Idrashukna, Paramanandapur and Begunjoar villages.

On Wednesday, suddenly a fox started biting people randomly in Basantapur village when they were working in a field, leaving some of them critically injured.

The injured are undergoing treatment at Naogaon Sadar Hospital.

Locals said the fox first bit some pedestrians at Indrashukna village on Tuesday evening, creating panic the locals.

Some cows and goats were also attacked by the fox and died.

Locals fear the fox may bite more people, including children, if it is not killed immediately.

Adhaipur Union Parishad Chairman Zakir Hossain said they are trying to catch the fox in association with the local people.

Naogaon Sadar Hospital administrator Dr. Rowshan Ara Khanam said they have enough vaccine stocked in the hospital. Bitten-injured people should immediately receive vaccine.
