Dhaka Abahani won the Inter-zone play-off semi-finals of AFC Cup 2019 over April 25 Sports Club of North Korea (4.25 SC for short) by 4-3 margin on Wednesday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
Beating the Pyongyang based North Korean football club, Dhaka Abahani confirmed the two-match Inter-zone play-off final round scheduled to be played on 25th September and 2nd October. There, it will meet Vietnam league club Hanoi Football Club.
On Wednesday, Abahani striker Nabib Newaz Jibon and Nigerian striker Sunday Chizoba Nwadialu shined throughout the match.
The traditional sky blue outfits opened the net in the 33rd minute with a goal of Sohel Rana who received the ball from striker Nabib Newaz Jibon.
Yet opponent midfielder Choe Jong-Hyok leveled the margin soon in the 35th minute following a timely delivery of O Hyok-Chol, Jibon took control over the ground with a goal in two minutes. This time, energetic defender Waly Faisal fed Jibon to score the goal.
The match saw another leveler in the 54th minute when Rim Chol-Min netted a pass of An Il-Bom nicely.
Abahani's Nigerian striker Sunday Chizoba Nwadialu put the team in the hot seat again with a 57-minute goal and extended the margin scoring his second and team's fourth goal in the 61st minute. Nwadialu was assisted by Tutul Islam Badsha in scoring his first while Haitian striker Kervens Fils Belfort aided him to score the second.




The Korean club managed to reduce the margin in the 77th minute following a goal of Pak Song-Rok after receiving the ball from O Hyok-Chol who also assisted to score their first goal.
Abahani custodian Shahidul Alam blocked a few certain goal attempts in the dying minutes. After the long whistle, the sky blue outfits begin celebrating the win.
In the match, the home side possessed the ball for 42 per cent times of the match while the opponents 58. Abahani took six shots on target while April 25 took five. Abahani got only one corner while its opponent team got 10.
