Case filed over rape of 2 madrasa girls
A case was filed against a teenage boy and a young man in connection with rape of two madrasa girls in Sadar upazila of Madaripur district.
The accused are Masud Morol, 30, and Rubel Molla,18.
The six grader's elder brother lodged the case with Sadar Police Station around 3:00 pm under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, said Saugatul Alam, officer in-charge of the police station.
One of the victims is a sixth grader while another a ninth-grader of Panchkhola Jazeera Dakhil Madrasa.
According to the case statement, the girls boarded a trawler around 10:00 pm to go to home after visiting their grandfather's home in the district town.
At one stage, accused Masud and Rubel who also were in the trawler picked the girls from the vehicles and violated them.
Locals found the girls injured in Kalikapur area along the river while going out to perform Fazar prayers and informed police.
Later, police rescued the girls and admitted them to Madaripur Sadar General Hospital.
On their statement, police detained Masud and Rubel from their houses in the morning, said SI Wahiduzzaman.
The accused were sent to jail following a court order, the OC added.
