Madaripur victims yet to get support from govt
Fifteen years have passed after 21 August grenade attack in 2004 at Bangabandhu Avenue in Dhaka, family members of some victims from Madaripur district yet have not gotten any support from the government.
The verdict in the gruesome attack has been pronnounced but no condemned convict faced execution.
As a result, family members of dead and wounded are disappointed as well as aggrieved as they have been passing days with misery since the attack.
The victims’ families have demanded the execution of the judgment of the case as early as possible.
Jubo League leader Liton Munsi of village chanpotty under Rajoir upazila was killed in 21 August attack. Not only Liton Munshi,Sufia Begum of Kadombari village under Rajoir upazila and Sromik League leader Nasir uddin of Ramarpool village,Mostak Ahmed of Mohismary village in Krokirchar union under Kalkini upazila of Madaripur district were killed in the attack .
On the other hand, Pran Krisna, 52, of village west roghunathpur under Madaripur Sadar has lost one eye. Besides at least 3 splinters are in his body for which he cannot move nor do anything for his family.
Pran Krisna said I cannot bear my treatment cost due to financial crises let alone providing my family expanses. Now my family is leading miserable life. Like Pran krisna, Kobir of Poura area under Kalkini Municipality has lost his left hand so he cannot do hard work but selling only vegetables in Kalkini Pourabazzar.
