Bangladesh begins camp 23rd Aug
The camp with the 25 booters of the preliminary squad will begin on Friday, 23rd August ahead of the Preliminary Joint Qualification Round-2 for FIFA World Cup 2022 and AFC Asian Cup 2023.
BFF national football committee chairperson Kazi Nabil Ahmed confirmed the news on Monday.
He said that the there was a plan to play two practice matches against Tajikistan before the qualifiers. The booters will leave for Tajikistan on 1st August. BFF is trying to play the practice matches on 3rd and 5th August.
In the meantime, head coach James Day also returned in Dhaka on Monday after a long vacation.
Earlier on Friday, Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) announced a 25-member preliminary squad for the Preliminary Joint Qualification Round-2.
Bangladesh will play its first match against the war-torn Afghanistan on 10th September in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
The red and green outfits are to play their second match against Qatar at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on 10th October and third match against India on 15th October at the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata.
Earlier after the grouping, Bangladesh, Oman, India and Afghanistan booters were pit in the same Group-E with World Cup host Qatar for the Preliminary Joint Qualification Round-2.
After surviving the first qualifier playing against Laos, Bangladesh confirmed the second qualifier.
In the second qualifiers, the teams of the group will have to play eight matches each. Among these, four will be home matches and four will be away matches.
