Western Rly adds 27 more bogies to inter-city trains
RAJSHAHI, Aug 8: Rajshahi Western Railway added 27 bogies to the inter-city trains for smooth journey during this Eid-ul-Azha.
However, no new train will be added this time.
Shah Newaz, chief commercial officer of Western Railway, confirmed the matter on Monday last.
Apart from this, the sale of return tickets has started.
Manager of Rajshahi Railway Station Abdul Karim said the sale of return ticket started from Monday morning.
He said tickets are being sold from 8am to 4pm. A passenger can take maximum four tickets. For this reason, the ticket buyers should keep their national identity card or birth certificate with them. Advanced tickets will not be refunded.
This time, 50 per cent tickets are being sold through counter and 50 per cent through mobile apps and online.
No requests for tickets will be accepted during Eid. However, the railway officials will get tickets as per the rules.
Responding to a question, Station Manager Abdul Karim said, as it was the first day of the ticket sale, there were fewer crowds. No report of hazard has been received.
Meanwhile, the district administration started a mobile court at Rajshahi Railway Station from Monday morning. Besides, GRP and RAB were also deployed.
