Stocks witness flat on Sunday
Stocks at Dhaka Stock Exchange Limited (DSE) value on Sunday declined to Tk 4.06 billion from Thursday's Tk 4.68 billion and the numbers of transacted shares fell to 154 million 60 thousands on the day from 182 million 70 thousands of the previous session.
The major bourse's broader DSEX index closed the day with 0.68 points up to 5133.93 points, its blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES also followed the same trend with 3.35 points up to 1,839.54 and with 2.75 points up to 1,176.48 respectively.
At the DSE, prices of 111 securities out of the day's 351 listed companies closed higher against 214 losing issues. The major gaining issues were BD Auto Cars, United Insurance, Monno Ceramics, Legacy Foot and Monno Stafflers.
The major losing issues were Progressive Life, Prime 1 ICBA Mutual Fund, RIME1ICBA, SEML-FBSL Growth Fund, SEML Lecture Equity Management Fund, CAPM IBBL Mutual Fund, CAPM BDBL Mutual Fund, Vanguard AML Rupali Bank Balanced Fund, SEML IBBL Shariah Fund, Vanguard AML BD Mutual Fund 1 and ICB AMCL 2nd Mutual Fund.
United Power grid Development Company Limited topped the turnover list followed by BSC, Fortune, Monno Ceramics and SEML Lecture Equity Management Fund.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed with flat on the day with upward trend with its major CASPI 3.02 points up to 15,716.78.
At the CSE, a total of 271 issues were traded while 92 closed higher and 151 closed lower as 7.71million shares worth Taka210 million changed hands.
