The Last Post Office heading towards Melbourne

Short film 'The Last Post Office' is now headed for Australian city of Melbourne to take part in the 'Melbourne International Film Festival' there as it would run from August 1 to 18. Based on the nostalgia for the dying heritage of letter-boxes on the streets the film has been directed by indigenous filmmaker Aung Rakhine.
'The Last Post Office' will get two screening in Melbourne on August 7 and 9. Ashish Khandaker has played the lead role in the film. Other actors are Shahriar Ferdous Shajib and Ashok Bepari. Rajib Rafi has written the story of the film while Rubaiyat Hossain and Adnan Imitaz Ahmed have produced it.

In the film the present status of post-offices in the country is reflected as the activities of the service has gravely fallen short. People have moved away from using letters as medium of communication to digital alternatives. Despite this scenario in one corner of the country two postmasters and a postman continue their tasks happily to preserve their existence.
