BARGUNA, July 21:  Aysha Siddika Minni has been denied bail in the case over the daylight murder of her husband Refat Shorif in Barguna. Barguna Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Sirajul Islam Gazi rejected her bail plea after a hearing on Sunday.
Minni, a student of Barguna Govt College, had been arrested over her alleged involvement in the plot to murder Refat before giving a confessional statement in the same court on Friday.
Ten lawyers stood for Minni while 40 represented the state.  On July 19, Aysha Siddika Minni reportedly confessed to her involvement in the murder before Barguna's Senior Judicial Magistrate.
Meanwhile, the family members of Rifat Shorif formed a human chain in front of Barguna Press Club at noon demanding immediate arrest of the attackers and transfer of the case to the Speedy Trial Tribunal.
Later, Abdul Halim Shorif, father of Rifat Shorif, read out a written statement at a press conference where he claimed that Minni had links to the murder.
He said, "A vested quarter is involved in a propaganda campaign in the social media and newspapers and thus obstructing the investigation process."
He demanded that Minni's father Mozammel Hossain and her mother be brought to book for concealing the information of marriage between Minni and Nayon Bond 'for which the murder of Rifat took place'.
