DSCC to go each house for destroying Aedes mosquito
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has taken a special programme to destroy the breeding grounds of Aedes mosquito to make a 'Dengu-free city'.
Under the fortnightly programme, members of DSCC inspection teams, cleaning teams and health teams will visit 25,000 houses under ward 57, said Mayor Sayeed Khokon while inaugurating the programme in city's Kanthalbagan area on Sunday.
Apart from destroying mosquito larvae during inspection, city corporation representaives will impart training to the citizens on how to eliminate Aedes mosquitoes, he added.
Aedes mosquitoes can not grow in stagnant waters on road or ditch, rather breed in clean water in containers such as old tires, tubs and tanks, which could be in or outside home, he added.
He requested all to remain alert and aware to prevent mosquito menace.
Sayeed Khokon informed that some 68 mobile medical teams are working to destroy Aedes mosquitoes. Medicines are being distributed at free of cost.
