Female HSC examinees outdo males in Barishal

BARISHAL, July 18: Female examinees did better than male ones in getting GPA-5 under Barishal Education Board (BEB) this year.
BEB Exam Controller Professor Md Anwarul Azim declared the result at his office on Wednesday noon, and said most of the failed examinees did badly in English subject.
According to the declared result, 63,538 candidates sat for the exam in 118 centres under 330 colleges of BEB this year.
Of them, 44,887 (70.65 per cent) passed with 1,201 getting GPA-5.
Last year the pass rate was 70.55 per cent with 670 getting GPA-5.
At least 23,629 (75.48 per cent) female examinees out of 31,306 passed with 735 in GPA-5 from BEB this year.
On other hand, 21,258 (65.95 per cent) male examinees out of 32,232 passed with 466 getting GPA-5.
