Kurigram flood situation unchanged; 3 lakh people marooned


The overall flood situation in Kurigram district remained unchanged, leaving nearly three lakh people of 72,840 families marooned.

The Kurigram-Bhurungamari-Sonahat land port road went under flood water while communications on the Kurigram-Ghugadoho road remained suspended as the road was flooded.

Flood affected people are taking shelter on highlands and embankments. They passing days in a sub human condition for want of pure drinking water and adequate foods.

Water Resources Secretary Kabir Bin Anwar recently visited the flood hit people in Sadar, Ulipur and Chitalmari upazilas and distributed relief materials among them.
