Prince Constantijn van Oranje of the Netherlands said true leaders value the power of diversity, guard common values and ensure that people can contribute and grow, while addressing the closing ceremony of Bangladesh Youth Leadership Centre (BYLC), Youth Leadership Summit -19, Dhaka on 14 July 2019.
He also said: "Leaders are guardians and lookout for diverse talents with different valuable skills, reflecting the societies they operate in. Our government is not going to fulfill your dream. She might make the process easier or tougher, but in the end, it is your goal, so you need to give it your all, and understand that leadership is about entrepreneurship and governance.
Dr Gowher Rizvi, Prime Minister's International Affairs Adviser, said the representatives at BYLC summit demonstrated that the commonalities between people from different backgrounds are far stronger than the differences. I believe that the young leaders of tomorrow who attended the summit will use to bridge the gap in differences through hard working, he added.
The BYLC summit brought together 370 university students and young professionals from home and abroad who were selected from over 1,800 applicants.
