Case filed over murder of accused in front of judge

A case was lodged in Cumilla on Tuesday over the murder of an accused by another in the judge's room of a court of the district on Monday.
Bangara Police Station assistant sub-inspector Firoz filed the case with Kotwali Model Police Station against lone accused Hasan in this morning.
ASI Firoz was present at the court during Monday's incident in connection with another case.
The case was later shifted to Detective Branch of police for investigation, said the police station inspector (Investigation) Mohammad Salauddin.
Md Farooque, 28, a murder case accused, was stabbed to death by another accused Hasan in the same case in the judge's room of a Cumilla court on Monday.
According to the court sources, both Farooque and Hasan, accused in a murder case filed in 2013, appeared before the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Fatema Ferdous. When the accused entered the courtroom, Hasan chased Farooque with a knif.
Being chased, Farooque took shelter in the judge's room for safety. But, Hasan entered the room and stabbed Farooque indiscriminately, leaving him critically injured.
Farooque was rushed to Cumilla Medical College Hospital where he died around 12:30pm.
Police and lawyers, however, caught Hasan alongwith the knife, said police inspector Subrata Banarjee.
Superitendant of Cumilla police Sayed Nurul Islam said, "How come a murder suspect managed to enter the courtroom with a knife amid tight security. We're investigation the matter."
