SIRAJGANJ, July 15:  At least nine people, including the bride and groom, were killed when a train rammed into a microbus, carrying a bridal party, on an unattended rail crossing in Ullapara of Sirajganj on Monday evening.
At least six people were injured in the accident that took place at Betkandi rail crossing in Panchakroshi area at about 6:45pm. Witnesses said the Dhaka-bound 'Padma Express' dragged the microbus a kilometre following the crash.  The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Officer-in-Charge of Ullapara Police Station Dewan Kaushik said the train crashed into the microbus around 7:00pm while it was trying to cross the rail tracks through the level crossing, killing five of its passengers on the spot and injuring seven others. Four others were died at the local hospital.  The injured are undergoing treatment at local
hospitals.
Train communications to and from Rajshahi remain snapped after the accident, he added.
