Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon Monday asked city dwellers to call DSCC hotline number: 09611000999 if anyone is affected by Dengue.
"Please call our hotline and health workers will go to you and provide care and medicine free of cost," he said.
The team will also provide help for cold, fever and other climate-related ailments, the Mayor said and advised, "But please do not be alarmed!"
The Mayor said 68 medical teams had been formed to treat Dengue patients and these teams will provide free medicines at 476 centres.
If necessary, a dengue patient will be admitted to Mohanagar General Hospital and Shishu Hospital free of cost.
Saying that Dengue has seen a rise in recent times, the mayor added, "There's no reason to be alarmed because 97 to 99 per cent patients have slight fever and recover within 7 to 10 days."
We hope to give a Dengue free city soon, he assured.
As per information, from January till July, three persons have died of Dengue.
