Youth drowns in flood water in Cox’s Bazar

COX'S BAZAR, July 15: A young man drowned in flood water in Chakaria Upazila of the district early Monday.
Deceased Mohammad Razu, 26, was the son of Md Jamal Uddin, a resident of Diyarchar area under BM Char Union in the upazila.
According to locals, the area was inundated as the water level of the Matamuhuri River has increased due to heavy rainfall and onrush of hilly water from the upstream.
Razu washed away by the floodwater while crossing a road by swimming in Atarkum area under Purbo Boro Bheola Union on Sunday around 10am.
Later, locals found Razu's floating body 400 meters away from where he went missing around 5:30 am.
BM Char Union Parishad Chairman SM Jahangir Alam confirmed the matter.
