Fuel produced from waste polythene in Meherpur
MEHERPUR, July 13: Tutul Biswas of Hemayetpur Village under Gangni Upazila of the district became successful in producing fuel from waste polythene.
He is a carpenter by profession but his innovative mind always remains busy to invent something new. Following this thinking, he managed to produce fuel.
Tutul maintains his family by making furniture. A few months back, he started producing fuel and methane gas by using waste polythene and plastic containers. He drives his motorcycle using the fuel. He is also selling diesel to local farmers who run their shallow tube-well.
Almost all the time, he remained busy in inventing the fuel. He is selling his produced fuel at half the price than the current market price.
He said, "I was motivated by observing a video from YouTube. Then, during my leisure time I started to collect waste polythene and plastic bottles."
He also said it is possible to produce 700 grams of fuel by burning 1 kg polythene.
He claimed that he can meet up the fuel demand of the area if he gets help.
Local Union Parishad Member Anarul Islam said, "Some locals are using Tutul's fuel in their motorcycles at minimum cost. Like them I am also using the fuel in my bike with no engine trouble."
At first, people of the area thought it was a lunacy of Tutul, but now it is fact. Moreover, they go to Tutul's house just to see his new invention every day.
