Bodies of seven fishers handed over to families

BHOLA, July 13: Local administration handed over bodies of seven fishermen to their receptive families on Friday night.
The fishermen went missing after two trawlers capsized in the Bay of Bengal near Dhal Char under Char Fasson Upazila of Bhola on July 6 last.
On Wednesday dawn, tourist police in Cox's Bazar recovered the bodies; they also rescued Monir Majhi, 30, and Md Jewel, 30, of Char Madraz in critical condition.
On Friday, the bodies were brought to Char Fasson Police Station (PS).
The deceased were identified as Jahangir and Shamsuddin of Rasulpur Village, Babul and Kamal of Char Madraz Village, and Oliuddin, Oziullah and Masud of Uttar Madraz Village in Char Fasson.
Wazuddin Mintu of Char Madraz said, Selim, Delwar, Zihad, Tosir and Rafiq are missing in this connection.
Meanwhile, another trawler of Shajahan Majhi capsized on the same day, and 14 fishermen are missing.
Officer-in-Charge of Char Fasson PS Shamsul Arefin said the administration is trying to trace out the missing fishermen.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Ruhul Amin said Tk 1.25 lakh was given to the families of deceased fishermen on Friday.
