Flood situation improving in Netrakona

NETRAKONA, Jun 12: The flood situation in Durgapur and Kalmakanda upazilas under the district is improving as the water level in major rivers in the district is in falling trend.
Officials of local administration and Water Development Board said that flood situation in Barhatta upazila of the district has deteriorated due to heavy rainfall and onrush of water from upstream region. The water-levels of two major rivers-Sumeswari and Kangso of the district, were recorded a sharp fall in different points including Berisiri and Jaria points of the district during the last 24 hours.
Deputy commissioner Netrakona Main-UL-Islam said that the overall flood situation in the two upazilas- Durgapur and Kalmaknada under the district has slightly improved on Friday while the situation deteriorated in Barhatta upazila of the district.    -BSS
