Bus services in Gaibandha-Dhaka route suspended for 7 days
No Dhaka-bound bus left Gaibandha on Friday too, causing immense sufferings to passengers.
Bus plying in the route remained shut from July 6 following the conflict between bus owners and labour union.
Bus owner and bus staff alleged that the labour union realize Tk 440 instead of set Tk 360 from each Dhaka-bound chair coach bus in the name of owners' association.
Elsewhere, labour union leaders misbehave with bus staff on the way in Palashbari and Gobindaganj due to different reasons.
In response, bus owners announced closure of bus plying that created this deadlock. But local bus services in internal all routes from terminal are normal.
District Bus Owners' Association general secretary A S M Ruhul Haque Nannu said bus services will stay shut until the problems, including motor worker organization's extortion on the highway and taking extortion at extended rate, are resolved.
Situation of Gaibandha Central Bus Terminal is seen unchanged on Friday.
Due to the suspension, commuter pressure rose in trains of the route.
Deputy Commissioner Md Abdul Matin said efforts are on for resolving the matter soon.
