Cattle trader hacked dead in Bogura

A cattle trader was hacked to death by miscreants in Shahjahanpur upazila of Bogura district on Thursday night.

Deceased Jabbarul Islam, 35, son of late Abdul Quddus, was a resident of Boro Chandai village in the upazila.

Family members said a group of miscreants called Jabbarul out of his house around 10:00 pm and hacked him indiscriminately by sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured.

Hearing his screams for help, locals rushed to spot and rescued him.

Sensing the presence of local people, miscreants fled the scene.

Injured Jabbarul was taken to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMCH) where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.

The SZMCH police outpost in-charge Abdul Aziz Mandal said several injury marks were found in the body.

The identities of the killers could not be known yet, said Mohammad Azim, officer-in-charge of Shahjahanpur Police Station.
