UN clears US$30m owe to Bangladesh

The United Nations (UN) has paid US$30 million out of US$60 million owe to Bangladesh for peacekeeping purposes.
On July 8, Assistant Secretary General of UN Operational Support Division Lisa M Buttenheim cleared the US$30 million responding to the request of Bangladesh’s Chief of Army Staff General Aziz Ahmed at a meeting in the UN Headquarters in New York, BSS reports.
During the meeting, they discussed different bilateral issues while Buttenheim lauded the Bangladesh for its role in the UN Peacekeeping Mission.
Buttenheim pledged to pay the UN’s reaming US$30 million to Bangladesh soon.
