Saif fails to topple Sk Russel after a 1-1 tie

Saif Sporting Club which had a chance to topple Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra and move to the third place has failed following a 1-1 tie with Chittagong Abahani in the ongoing 13-team Bangladesh Premier League football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka on Wednesday.
On the day, the port city team went ahead in the fourth minute of the match with a goal of striker M Sohel Miah. Colombia midfielder Déiner Andrés Córdoba Escarpeta equalised the margin for Saif boys in the 25th minute with an assist of defender Imran Hassan Rimon.
After the draw, Saif had 38 points and opponent Chittagong Abahani had 23 points in collection.  
There are four matches of the league today (Thursday) in different venues.
Gopibagh's Brothers Union and newbie NoFeL Sporting Club will play at 4:00pm while defending champion Dhaka Abahani and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra will meet at 7:00pm, both at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka. On the other hand, Arambagh Krira Sangha and topper Bashundhara Kings will engage at 4:00pm at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh when Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra and Team BJMC will meet at the same time at the Shaheed Bhulu Stadium in Noakhali.
