Saif SC's chance to topple Sk Russel
Saif Sporting Club has a chance to topple Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra to advance to the third place of the ongoing 13-team Bangladesh Premier League football if it can win today's (Wednesday) match against Chittagong Abahani.
The match will be played at 4:00pm at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka.
Saif boys could not win their last meet with the same Russel boys earlier in February as the match saw a goalless draw.
Currently, the Saif boys are at the fourth place with 37 points from 18 matches while their today's rivals Chittagong Abahani boys are at the sixth place with 22 points playing 19 matches.
The ongoing race to the title of the league is solely led by Bashundhara Kings who has 52 points from 18 matches. Second placer Dhaka Abahani has 48 points from 19 matches. The Russel boys are at the third place with 39 points playing 18 matches. Apparently, the two toppers have secured their place firmly as there are less chance that one rival may challenge them in the remaining six rounds.
If Saif boys can win the match today, they will have 40 points and will be shifted to the third place.
Saif boys were fourth in the last edition of Bangladesh Premier League.
