Students of seven colleges affiliated with Dhaka University (DU) have formed a human chain seeking full implementation of their five-point demand.
They formed the human chain programme in front of Jatiya Press Club in capital Dhaka on Saturday.
The students alleged that black chapter descends in seven colleges since affiliation of these with Dhaka University. After nine months activities of the institutions remained closed, they had to form human chain and observe fast-unto-death programme.
Later, DU authorities started activities slowly but went back to previous state some days after.
Amid this, they took to street on April 23 and 24 demanding five-point demand. DU authorities assured them of implementing these quickly.
But the demands are not being made effective. In this situation, they sought Prime Minister's intervention.
At the programme, they said they will bring procession from Dhaka College's main gate to Dhaka University's Mukti O Ganatantra' archway on Monday.
They will also serve memorandum to DU Vice Chancellor. Then, they will announce their next programmes.
Taking part at the human chain, Dhaka College student Ismail Hossain said, "In backdrop of movement, VC sir assured us, 'You go back home, your demands will be met'. But nothing of his words have been made effective."
The five-point demand includes to publish together results of all departments without mistake within 90 days; reevaluate papers including revealing reasons behind mass failure and publish academic calendar aiming to resolve session jam.
