AC Rabiul’s family wants to live with his dream

MANIKGANJ, July 5: The family of late Assistant Commissioner (AC) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Detective Branch, Robiul Karim, wants to live with his dream.
AC Robiul was killed in Holey Artisan terrorist attack in Gulshan of Dhaka on July 1, 2016.
Before his death, he founded a school for handicapped named 'Beaconing Light Organisation of Mankind and Society' (BLOMS).
His family said, Robiul completed his BA (Honours) and MA in Bangla from Jahangirnagar University (JU) and joined police through 30th BCS.
The school was dream of Robiul. He founded it in 2011. Now, there are 40 students at the school.
At the beginning of the school, he sponsored students' dress, tiffin, books and stationary.
His younger brother Shamsuzzaman Shams said Robiul had a dream to establish a dormitory and a hospital for the poor students of the school and an old home. He started an agriculture project to grow fund for the institution. In this connection, he established a banana garden and a fish farm on his uncle's 137-acre land.
Earlier in 2007, Rabiul established Nazrul Bidyashiri Kindergarten School in his village.
Shamsuzzaman Shams said the monthly expenditure of the school is Tk 80,000, and they can collect Tk 40,000 in each month with much hurdle.
He requested everyone to come forward to ensure survival of this institution.
He also described about the transport problem of the school. It is very difficult to carry the handicapped children to and from the school.
In the meantime, government donated Tk 5 lakh for the development of the school and an NGO built a building.
While talked, Robiul's wife Umme Salma mourned the absence of their family's head. She expressed her gratitude to PM for giving Tk 16 lakh and Bangladesh Police for giving Tk 80 lakh to the family.
She said she wants to bring up her son Sami, 8, and daughter Raiyan, 3, with the ideal of their father.
Son Sajedul Karim Sami said, he want to be an honest person like his father. Daughter Kamrun Nahar Raiyan always cries seeing her father's photo.

Rabiul's old mother dreams that her son's school will be famous.
Deputy Commissioner SM Ferdous and Police Super Rifat Rahman Shamim consoled Robiul's family.
