Police recovered the hanging body of a Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader from his in-laws' house at Gazipur village of Benapole on Monday night.

Deceased Rabiul Islam Sumon, 25, was the joint secretary of Benapole municipality unit BCL. He was the son of Abdul Mannan, a resident of Durgapur village in Sharsha upazila.

Benapole Port Police Station OC Alamgir Hossain said Sumon went to his in-laws' house on Monday morning.

Around 10pm, family was informed that Sumon committed suicide by hanging himself.
