Journalists on Wednesday staged demonstration in front of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) protesting an “indecent summon” issued by the state-run anti graft body to a fellow newsman over a corruption issue.
The newsmen also threatened to gather in front of the commission again at 10am on Thursday if the commission does not implement their four-point demands by 24 hours.
Dhaka Union of Journalists ( DUJ) president Abu Jafar Shurjo made the announcement.
The demands include: the ACC's regret for issuance of the letter and to withdraw it.
On June 23, news portal Bangla Tribune published a news over alleged bribery of its Director Khandaker Enamul Bachhir by suspended DIG Mizanur Rahman.
Later, the ACC sent a letter to its special correspondent to Dipu Sarwar to appear before it for his comment on the issue.
The commission, in the letter, also threatened him to take legal action for his noncompliance.
