Man injured in 'gunfight' dies at Pangu Hospital

A young man injured in a reported gunfight died while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (Nitor), popularly known as Pangu Hospital, in Dhaka on Tuesday night.
Deceased Abdullah Al Zonayed alias Biklash Roni, 35, was a resident of Hakir Mor area in Bogura district town, said Aslam Ali, officer in-charge of Bogura detective police.
Zonayed died around 11:30pm at the hospital, OC Aslam added.
Earlier on Thursday, Zonayed and his associates opened fired on DB police when a petrol team reached in-front of Ideal College. In response police also fired back that triggered a gun battle.
After the gun exchange, police found Zunayed bullet-hit injured and took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
Later, he was shifted to Pangu Hospital as his condition deteriorated where he succumbed to injuries last night, the OC added.
Police said Zunayed was accused in eight cases, including drug, extortion, women repression, filed with Bogura Sadar Police Station, the OC added.
