West Indies set Bangladesh 322 to win
West Indies finished at a score of 321/8 in 50 overs against Bangladesh at The Cooper Associates County Ground, Taunton on Monday.
Shai Hope hammered 96 runs before he was dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman. The left-armer also dismissed Shimron Hetmyer and Andre Russell in the same over. Jason Holder hammered 33 in 14 balls before he holed out to Mahmudullah in Mohammad Shaifuddin’s over.
For Bangladesh, Mohammad Saifuddin and Mustafizur Rahman claimed three wickets each while Shakib Al Hasan chipped in with two.
After losing the dangerous Chris Gayle early, the West Indies got back the momentum, thanks to the composure of Shai Hope and the power of Evin Lewis. Thereafter, Nicholas Pooran (25), Shimron Hetymer and Jason Holder (33) played some fiery cameos to propel West Indies to an imposing score.
However, Bangladesh manage to pull back the West Indies juggernaut by picking wickets at regular intervals. Darren Bravo (19) hit some lusty blows for the Caribbean outfit to push them well past the 300-run mark
