Three women charged with complicity
A Tribunal in Dhaka framed charges against three women militants in a case filed over suicide bomb blast at Azimpur militant den in 2016. After framing charges, Judge Md Mujibur Rahman of the Dhaka Anti-Terrorism Tribunal fixed July 24 for producing witnesses.
The three women militants who will face trial under Anti Terrorism Act are Abedatul Fatema alias Khadiza, wife of JMB coordinator late Tanbir Quadri, Afrin alias Prioty, wife Holey Artisan Bakery attack coordinator Nurul Islam alias Marzan and Shaiyela Afrin wife of JMB leader Basharuzzaman.
Earlier three women militants were produced before the court. The Judge read out the allegations to them. They claimed themselves innocent and demanded justices.
The case statement is that a suicide bomber exploded a bomb in an Azimpur militant den on September 10 at night in 2016. JMB Co-ordinator Tanbir Quadri was killed in the suicide attack. Instantly in a raid, the three militants' wife Khadiza, Afrin and Shaiyela were arrested with bullet wounds from the spot. In this connection Sub Inspector Delwar Hossain of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime unit (CTTC) filed a case with Lalbagh Police Station a day after the incident under Anti Terrorism Act.
