Dr Kamal's Gono Forum rejects budget

Dr Kamal's Gono Forum has rejected the proposed budget for financial year 2019-20.
"We (Gono Forum) has fully rejected the present budget," the party president Dr Kamal Hossain said at a press conference at National Press Club on Saturday afternoon arranged for making formal reaction on budget.
Kamal said, "It is very necessary to inform people about the budget contains what good and bad. It is needed to know whether people can evaluate economy well, whether people's interest has been considered, or denied. Reza Kibria has tried to uphold deeply these in our budget review."
In reply to a question from reporters, Dr Kamal said, "If you think two opposition members among 300 in parliament can represent democracy, you can so."
In another question, he replied, "We want people will voice actively regarding the government's corruption and will do all what is necessary for changing government in democratic ways."
Gono Forum's Reza Kibria at the press conference said, "We have completely rejected the budget. Because this is not budget. This budget has been given for a few stronger business sections. This budget makers have no thought about the country's future."
Gono Forum executive president professor Abu Sayeed, Advocate Subrata Chowdhury, presidium member Jaglul Haider Afridi, among others, attended the media briefing.
