AL terms budget people-friendly, positive

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday termed the proposed budget for 2019-20 financial year as people-friendly and positive.
He, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said, "This budget is unique general deed to meet people's expectation. No negative matter is anywhere of the budget. This is people-friendly and positive budget."
Obaidul said this at a press conference arranged by the party to give its reaction on the proposed budget at Awami League President's Dhanmondi political office.
Earlier on Thursday, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal placed Tk 5,23,190cr proposed budget for financial year 2019-20 in the parliament.
The minister also said, "Those who eyes the budget negatively, a line is applicable in case of them- 'Faults are thick where love is thin'. Actually, they made adverse remark and talk with spite over budget because of Awami animosity."
In reaction to BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's speech over budget, AL general secretary said BNP has showed such mentality about each budget for last 10 years. But Bangladesh is going towards middle-income country through implementation of each one.,
"Their adverse criticism on budget is fictitious and as usual. This is their negative politicis. This is reflection of negative mentality," Obadul Quader said.
Quader claimed that this budget has reached marginal people, indomitable youths, disabled and backward people. This budget is to fulfill their dream.
Mentioning that the government sees the budget implementation as a challenge, Quader said, "Implementation of budget is always challenging. We will take this challenge. We along with new cabinet, new spirit of Sheikh Hasina government will surpass this challenge in budget materialization."
AL joint general secretary Dr Dipu Moni, organizing secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, office secretary Abdus Sobhan Golap, cultural secretary Asim Kumar Ukil, forest and environment secretary Delwar Hossain, science and technology secretary Engineer Abdus Sabur, among others, were present at the press conference.
