Children get books as Eid salami
Gazi Abdur Rahman Library of Chandpur gifted the children book as Eid Salami, which is a part of Bangladesh Eid culture. Traditionally in Bangladesh, elders gave the children money as Eid salami but this Library started the trend to give the children book on Eid day instead of money since 15 years ago. The books were distributed on Eid day on June 5 this year at the Gazi Bari in Nanupur village of Chandpur.
Morium Begum, the advisor of the library, founder Gazi Monsur Aziz, member Abdul Manna, Farhana Akhter Akhi, Sumiaya Akhter including other members gave the books to around 50 children on Eid day.
Amongst the books that they distributed was the books of poem, liberation war, science, flower, nature, general knowledge and child magazine. Morium Krafts was the co-partner of this books distribution.
The children however were elated to get those new books.
Meem, a student of the Gachtola village of Islampur said she loves to read poem, story and other and therefore she is happy to get those books.
Member of the library Gazi Abdul Mannan said that the books increase the horizon of knowledge of the children and that's why they began the trend of distributing books during the Eid.
This library also is engaged with many educational works like giving educational scholarship, distribution trees, arranging games, English adda to increase the knowledge on English among others.
