Iranian coach of Bangladesh hockey coming today
Hamidreza Bokharaii Kashi, the new head coach of Bangladesh national hockey team, is coming today (Saturday) to take charge of the boys for the ASHF Indoor Asia Cup hockey to be held from 15th to 22nd July in Thailand.
Earlier, Bangladesh Hockey Federation (BHF) was planning to appoint a Polish coach for the event. But, the arrangement didn't go well and BHF began searching for another coach.
In the meantime, the hockey players already began the preparation at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan (BKSP) in Savar under the supervision of local coaches.
Now the Iranian coach will take charge of the boys as he is likely to go to BKSP after arriving at the airport. The Persian was the Head Coach of Tehran Hockey team from 2008 to 2012, Assistant Coach of Iran national team from 2009 to 2010, Secretary of Iran Hockey Federation since 2014 and was Director of Administrative Affairs of Hockey Federation 2005 to 2013. He played in Iran National Hockey Team from 1999 to 2006.
The new committee of BHF believes that the new coach will be able to train up the boys properly for the upcoming event.
In the event, Bangladesh will face Malaysia in the opening match on 15th July. The second match is against Iran on 16th July, third match against Philippines on 17th July and the last pool match against host Thailand on 18th July.
Bangladesh is in tough Pool-A along with defending champions Iran, hosts Thailand, former runner-up Malaysia and Philippines.
