Four found dead in 3 dists
Four persons were found dead in three districts- Manikganj, Brahmanbaria and Rajshahi, in three days.
MANIKGANJ: Police recovered a woman's body from Malshi area in Saturia Upazila of the district on Wednesday noon.
Deceased Achhia Begum, 23, was the wife of Jafar Ali of the area and a garments worker in Dhaka.
Sub-Inspector of Saturia Police Station (PS) Shamsul Haque confirmed the incident and said, the woman killed self over family feud.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Manikganj Zila Hospital for an autopsy.
An unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
BRAHMANBARIA: Police recovered a minor's body from a pond at Medda area of the district town early Wednesday, 11 hours after his missing.
Deceased Raihan, 5, was the son of Rana Mia of the area.
In-Charge of Brahmanbaria No. 1 police outpost Nuruzzaman confirmed the incident on Wednesday morning.
He said the child went missing on Tuesday at 4pm. Family members searched for him in many places but could not trace out.
At 3am on Wednesday, locals saw the body floating in the pond and informed police.
Later, police recovered the body.
RAJSHAHI: Police recovered bodies of two persons from the district in two days.
Police recovered a transport worker leader's bullet-hit body from a brick kiln in Puthia Upazila of the district on Tuesday night.
Decreased Nurul Islam was the former president of Upazila Road Transport Workers Union.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Puthia PS Shakil Uddin Ahmed said, someone called Nurul Islam from his house at 11pm on Monday night, and since then he was missing.
On Tuesday night, locals found the body beside the brick kiln.
On information, police recovered the body.
On the other hand, police recovered a woman's body from a maize field at Chawk Bausa Village under Bausa Union in Bagha Upazila of the district on Monday night.
Deceased Golapi Begum, 45, was the wife of a dumb man Monir Hossen of Panchpara Village under Arani Municipality in the upazila.
In this connection, police interrogated her husband Monir Hossen, father-in-law Bichchad Ali, mother-in-law Mariam Begum, and sister-in-law Sajeda Begum. They were released later.
Female Councillor of the municipality Marjina Begum said Golapi had sold a cow at Tk 42,000 at Rustompur Haat on May 29 last. On next day, she went out to pay the electricity bill but did not return.
Her brother-in-law Majadar Rahman filed a general diary with Bagha PS on June 1.
The councillor also said, about four months back, Golapi eloped with a youth of her village. Local political leaders brought her back home.
The deceased's father-in-law Bichchad Ali said as his son is dumb, Golapi led a free life. She protested if they told her anything.
He also said she left her husband and son and eloped with another man.
On Monday night, her body was found at one Lalu Pramanik's maize field in the village.
Bagha PS OC Mohsin Ali said on information, they recovered the body and sent in to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Police also found a veil and a pair of sandals beside the body. Her neck was tied with a scarf and her face was covered with lubricant.
Police suspected that she was killed elsewhere and the body was dumped in the field.
