There is no doubt that recently concluded OIC summit is a big success for Bangladesh. At this forum, Our Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina prudently talked on important national and international issues such as Rohingya crisis, world peace and terrorism, which was appreciated by all sectors of the world society. Her wise decision of taking all these vital issues at the global platform and hammering  on those continuously has created a buzz worldwide, which is very much necessary to solve these problems, and hopefully, very soon we would be able to see a ray of hope in these crucial matters.

Rohingya refugee issue, one of the greatest humanitarian disasters at the present world, is a decade long headache for Bangladesh because of the persistent persecution of these poor Rohingya people by the Burmese military junta. Due to the killing spree of this deadly army, around 1.1 million Rohingya came in Bangladesh in last couple of years. Hon'ble PM Sheikh Hasina precisely put the refugee crisis-related essential points on this forum and seek the support of the member states to pressurize Myanmar government to find a pragmatic solution of this longstanding human catastrophe, which was created by the military of this autocratic country.

Sending relief consignment or, allocating money or, any such initiative for the Rohingya refugees are not enough now. Myanmar must ensure their dignified return. However, till now, we have been haplessly seeing that our neighbouring country is not doing so, rather, Burmese authority belittles the grave concern of our country by their high handed attitude. Unfortunately, big names like China and Russia, who has invested overwhelmingly in Myanmar and has an incredible authority over this military-backed country, did not pay any attention to the urge of Bangladesh in this case. This is also a great blow to the permanent solution of this burning issue. Therefore, Bangladesh has been tackling this herculean task singlehandedly for years.

One need not to be a rocket scientist to understand that this large number of refugees is a mammoth challenge for any country, whether it is poor or rich. Still, Bangladesh, a developing third-world country, has been sheltering these displaced people who were forced to leave their motherland and bound to enter our country for the intolerable torture of this Burmese blood thirsty military. OIC, as an influential international organization, could play an effective role to rehabilitate these refugees in their motherland, and, therefore, the PM took right decision to urge the OIC nations about raising their voice on this humanitarian tragedy.

We have seen that PM Sheikh Hasina vividly narrated the entire situation and the limitations of Bangladesh in this case. As a largely populated country, Bangladesh finds it hard to manage the daily expense of this large number of refugees. It seems that OIC countries understood that it is a huge burden for the developing country like Bangladesh. As a result, we have seen the solid position of the OIC member states on this Rohingya refugee issue, which is a great support for this humanitarian cause. All the member states have united condemned the heinous Burmese action and talked about the case in the International Court of Justice (ICJ). Hopefully it will mobilize greater international support for this particular matter.

If OIC help Bangladesh in this issue, it would be much easier to put pressure on Myanmar and find a feasible solution of this crisis. For a long time, Bangladesh has been trying to rehabilitate the displaced people in the Rakhine province in a safe condition, because Rohingyas are the original inhabitants of Rakhine.

Moreover, Hon'ble PM talked about global peace along with the Rohingya crisis, because, she knows that one is related to another. OIC can play a big role to ensure world peace because of its large reach and enormous power. OIC, founded in 1969, consists of 57 member states, with a collective population of more than 1.8 billion, is a strong and renowned global platform.

It is widely known that terrorism becomes one of the most threatening problems at the present world and underprivileged countries are the worst sufferers of this frightening monster. However, we always come to know about this when something happens in the wealthy countries. At present, terrorism has taken a multifaceted mask to execute its evil operation throughout the world. It is complex. It is a real complex and ever-changing phenomenon.

At present situation, it becomes tough to define the actual pattern of terrorism, because, it is evolving its face and colour like a 3-D picture. As a result, even criminal experts find it hard to find the genuine and sustainable answer of this global challenge. Having said that, the global organizations, can play a pivotal role to find a comprehensive strategy to check this devilish problem, which has been destroying the world like a degenerative disease.

Hon'ble PM Sheikh Hasina urged the OIC countries to come forward and raise their voice against terrorism. Like a harbinger of peace, she asked for the 'zero tolerance' on global terrorism at OIC summit. This is indeed a great achievement for Bangladesh that our Hon'ble PM successfully united the world powers in the global peace issue. Last but not the least; we can definitely say that this OIC summit is a historic one and a clear success for Bangladesh and millions of peace loving world citizens.
