Graduate’s Brain Drain
Brain drain is a simple word to everyone as like as other words in English dictionary. But its significance is very vast to the scholars but not among mass people. Its seem to us that authority in your country are not feeling interested to observe the word since thousands of graduates students from our country are going to well developed country every year.
From the beginning of the history of human life, people especially young generation are always looking to build a better future, where they can lead a divine life without facing worldly problem. To fulfill their instinct aim, they try hard and soul to do this. Why current generation in our country is willing to go overseas country? The question knocks our authority!
Bangladesh is one of the over-populated countries in the not only South Asian but also whole world and it is recently turning underdeveloped country into developed country. That means here is created vast opportunity for the young generation for doing good jobs/business as their needs with cool environment. Actually the opportunity is created? No, not all. There is no huge scope for the graduate students who completed his degree from the well known university in our country. Why they could not get expected job?
Students who would like to go to overseas country for higher education have to appear in IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, SAT exam- those are the toughest and most attendee's exam in the world. They are success in the any one of the exams. But the scenario is totally different in our country job examination in where they are failure. As a result, they want to go to well developed country.
Since Bangladesh is overpopulated country, many national and international organization/companies are willing to setup new industry as there is better chance to get low wage employees. But employers could not do this. They hire skilled worker from different countries with paying high salaries, like almost 10 million skilled foreign workers are still working in Bangladesh and passing huge amount of remittance from our country (10 billion dollar). As a result, our well educated youth choose the option.
Moreover, a significant portion of graduate students have been wishing to get a government job from their university life as it is very prestigious with reasonable salary, and they also spend around four-five years after completing bachelor or master degree. Unfortunately, at the end most of them are not successful. This consequence is not measurable. The graduate's students would not like to spend any time to get the govt job.
However, since well developed countries are hiring qualified students from underdeveloped countries. At the end, our country will be empty of merit students, if the process continue. It is high time that authority should be very careful about the issue.
