13th span of Padma Bridge to be installed today

The 13th span of the much-hyped Padma Bridge will be installed on Friday which will make 1,950 metres of the bridge visible.
The 13th span is being taken to the pillar by floating crane Tian-E from the Mawa Kumarbhog Construction Yard around 10:20 am and will be installed on the 14 ad 15 no pillars in the afternoon if weather remains favorable, said engineer of Padma Bridge Project Humayun Kabir.
The Padma Multipurpose Bridge started becoming visible with the installation of 150-metre span on pillars 37 and 38 on October 30, 2017.
Works on the country's largest bridge started in December 2015.
The 6.15-kilometre bridge will have a total of 41 spans, each 150 metres long, reports UNB.
