Two bikers killed in muggers' attack

Two bikers were killed in an attack by muggers in Nababganj upazila of Dhaka on Thursday night.

The deceased were identified as Md Kalam,52, and Zahidul,44. They both hailed from Noadda village under Galimpur union in the upazila.

Zahid's friends told media that Kalam and Zahid came under attack in Majhirkanda area at about 11pm on their way to  home from Deotala area by a motorcycle.

Three miscreants hit Kalam on his throat with sharp weapons, leaving him critically injured. As Zahid tried to help Kalam, they also beat him up.

Hearing their screams, local people rushed in. Sensing their presence the miscreants fled the scene.     

On information, police rescued the bikers and whisked them off to a local hospital where doctors declared Kalam dead.

Hearing Kalam's death news, Zahid suffered a heart attack. As his condition deteriorated, Zahid was shifted to National Institute of cardiovascular Diseases in Dhaka where he was also declared dead.
    
Nababganj police OC Mostafa Kamal said police hunt is on to nab the assailants.
