Former member of BCL central committee Zarin Dia, who was suspended from the organisation over May 13-incident at Madhu's canteen, reportedly tried to commit suicide by taking sedatives on early Tuesday.
Agitated Zarin Dia came to limelight after she along with some other deprived activists were attacked at the Dhaka University's Madhur Canteen on May 13 but she was suspended from the party over the clash.

Confirming the matter, Bacchu Mia, Sub-Inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Police Outpost (fari), said, "Zarin was taken to hospital at night as she fell sick after taking sleeping pills. Her stomach had been cleaned. She was admitted to the Ward No 502 of the hospital and released at noon today."

Spokesperson of deprived faction and former program and planning affairs secretary Rakib Hossain said, "We have talked to her in between 9pm and 10pm last night. Her mother told us that she left the house. We traced her with the help of law enforcement agency by tracking down her cell phone number and immediately admitted her into the hospital at around 3.15am."
"Zarin was taken to a relative's place from the hospital around 1:00pm on Tuesday. Although she is in sense but not in the position to speak at this moment, Rakib added.

Zarin Diya stated her depression in her facebook status three hours after the notice of her suspension for violating organizational code of conduct.
She said in the status: "… Shovon Bhai told me that Rabbani Bhai didn't want me in central committee due to a personal clash with him. I have tried to contact Rabbani over phone. He was unavailable despite repeated attempts."
"... I was injured in May 13's incident but no one of you came to see me. I am getting depressed mentally. If I die take the answers from Shovon Bhai and Rabbani Bhai . . . ," she also stated.
