Team BJMC holds Chittagong Abahani 1-1
Current bottom-liner of 13-team Bangladesh Premier League Team BJMC had griped sixth placer Chittagong Abahani in a 1-1 tie on Tuesday in the first match of 16th round of league at the Shaheed Bhulu Stadium in Noakhali.
Nigerian midfielder Samson Iliasu netted the goal for Bangladesh Jute Mills Team just before the short whistle while Gambian striker Mamadou Bah paid back for the port city team in the 84th minute.
The two had played another draw in the first phase of the league. That was a goalless draw.
After playing the tie match, the port city team is at the sixth place of point table with 18 points.
On the other hand, the Jute Mills team stayed winless for last 16 matches. It celebrated its last win 15 matches ago in the Federation Cup against Brothers Union in October last year where it won over the Gopibagh club by 3-2 margin. Playing 15 matches of the league, the BJMC boys won zero match and played five draws.
There are three matches of league today (Wednesday) at two different venues.
Fifth placer Arambagh Krira Sangha will face fourth placer Saif Sporting Club at 4:00pm at the Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh. Another bottom-liner Brothers Union who is at 12th place will meet 10th placer Mohammedan Sporting Club at the Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka. Old Dhaka club and ninth placer Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society will meet eight placer Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club at 7:00pm at the same venue.
