Barrister Rumeen Farhana, BNP's International Relations Secretary, got the party's nomination for the reserved women seats in parliament.
The decision was made public on Monday (May 20).
"I was given a phone call and now I am going to the Election Commission," Rumeen told the Daily Observer.
In the eleventh national election, Rumeen wanted nomination from Brahmanbaria-2 but the nomination was given to lawyer Abdus Sattar.
A close contender for the nomination was Nipun Roy Chowdhury, daughter-in-law of Standing Committee Member, Gayeshwar Roy.
As BNP's five winning candidates joined parliament, it will get one reserved seat. As per Election Commission schedule, Monday (May 20) was the last date for the submission of nomination form.
Late on Sunday (May 19), Rumeen was finalised by BNP senior leaders.
On May 15, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir went to Bangkok for treatment and is supposed to come back on Monday.
