Lightning kills four in Cox’s Bazar

COX'S BAZAR, May 20: Four persons were killed in lightning strike in different areas of the district on Sunday. Of them, one was Rohingya.
Health and Family Planning Officer of Ramu Upazila Dr Mezbah Uddin Ahmed said that some injured patients came to the upazila health complex. Of them, one died and others were injured and are under treatment now.
The deceased was identified as Anis, 11, son of Azizul Islam of Bharuakhali Chowdhurypara of Sadar Upazila of the district.
While two were killed and three persons were injured at Colourpara Tulabagan Area under Khuniapalang Union of Ramu Upazila.
The deceased were identified as Fatema Khatun, 15, daughter, and Afnan, 2, son of Mawlana Nurul Islam of the area.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Ramu Police Station (PS) confirmed the news.
On the other hand, a Rohingya was killed at Kutupalang area of Ukhiya Upazila of the district.

The deceased was identified as Abdus Salam, 55, a Rohingya of Camp D-5 of Chadmaria Area of the district.
Officer-in-Charge of Ukhiya PS Nurul Islam Majumder confirmed the news.
