Jannatul Ferdous on TV shows for healthy life

With this slogan "Let us give an opportunity to keep your health healthy in this Holy Ramadan", Boishakhi Television has started its 46-episode health-related show - Health Tips - with the moderator Jannatul Ferdous Brishty.
Jannatul Ferdous Brishty is a physician herself and she has been hosting health-related TV programmes since 2010.
Previously, Brishty did health shows on some of the most popular TV channels in Bangladesh, such as: ATN Bangla, Desh TV, Channel 9, Bangla TV, Mohona TV etc.
"I have started to host TV shows like this as a hobby" she says. "I have won many national level competitions during my school-life but at present the feeling is really different. Now I see hosting shows like this as a duty of mine." Her full commentary is as follows:
Being a doctor it's my duty towards my society and country not only to provide healthcare to its people but also to create health consciousness among them as well. As these programmes are telecast live, I get to listen to the patients and their relatives' problems as well.
In my long experience I have found that the people of our country do not know which doctor they should go to for their specific problems. So, they end up wasting a lot of time in trying to find the right specialist and get harmed in the meantime.
I have consulted many patients like this through specialist doctors. They have given me positive feedback through various social media platforms and have shown their love and gratitude for the work that I do. There have been many cases where people got injured because of their superstitious beliefs and then as I had directly informed them about their mistakes they became aware of such beliefs.
I think there is no alternative to television programmes like this to spread awareness among the people of this large populated-country, because when I discuss specific issues with a specialist doctor, millions of people in front of the television set can become aware of this together more efficiently.
So, in future, I wish to host such programmes further so that I can create health awareness among the people of my country.
