Man's body recovered in Nawabganj

Police on Thursday morning recovered the body of a gold businessman from the Ichamoti river in Nawabganj upazila of Dhaka district.

The deceased was identified as Ananda Banik, 42, a resident of Bandura village in the upazila. He had a jewelry shop at Old Bandura Bazar.  

Mostafa Kamal, officer in-charge (OC) of Nababganj Police Station, said locals spotted the body on the river's bank around 10:00am and informed police.

Police, later, recovered the body and sent it to Mitford Hospital Morgue.
 
Several injury marks were found on the body. Police primarily assume Ananda Banik was murdered, the OC added.
